1 Description: The number of public schools in the state making adequate yearly progress (AYP) by meeting all their performance goals. ; Academic Year: 2005-06; Grade: N/A; Note: The state-reported number of public schools in the state making adequate yearly progress (AYP) by meeting all their performance goals. Definitions of AYP definitions vary by state, but include the following three components: the percentage of students that were proficient or above when tested in reading and mathematics; whether or not at least 95 percent of students in tested grades participated in the assessments; and one additional academic indicator (usually graduation rates for high schools).
