The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the collection and reporting of data on EDE, beginning in SY 2019-20. The Department urges abundant caution when using the data and recommends reviewing the relevant data notes prior to use or interpretation. This includes data on state assessments, graduation rates, and chronic absenteeism.

2020-2021 PUERTO RICO 151 696 Performance Four-Year Cohort Count to IDEA Exiting Comparison: The number of CWD Four-Year Cohort graduates reported in FS151 does not match the number of students reported as having graduated with a regular high school diploma in FS 009. The discrepancy comprises -1015 students and is a difference of -23.65%.
2020-2021 SOUTH CAROLINA 151 696 Performance Four-Year Cohort Count to IDEA Exiting Comparison: The number of CWD Four-Year Cohort graduates reported in FS151 does not match the number of students reported as having graduated with a regular high school diploma in FS 009. The discrepancy comprises 1220 students and is a difference of 28.24%. Comparisons between student reported in FS009 and FS151 are not appropriate, as they do not report the same thing, nor is that the intention. FS151, students are identified as having a disability if they have ever been documented as having one during their four years of high school. Within FS009, students are identified as having a disability if they were reported as having a disability at that point in time. Additionally, FS151 captures "completers" as graduates, as well as those receiving a certificate of completion, while FS009 only captures those graduating with a high school diploma. This means that the population for FS151 is significantly larger than for FS009.
2020-2021 WYOMING 151 696 Performance Four-Year Cohort Count to IDEA Exiting Comparison: The number of CWD Four-Year Cohort graduates reported in FS151 does not match the number of students reported as having graduated with a regular high school diploma in FS 009. The discrepancy comprises 131 students and is a difference of 20.86%. For the purposes of our cohort based federal grade reporting, inclusion in all program subgroups (IDEA, EL, lunch eligible, etc.), is based on if the student was reported as in the program at ANY time during high school grade (9-12) enrollments in WY.  So, a student who returned to regular education (exited IDEA) at any time during high school and later graduated is counted as a graduate in the IDEA subgroup.
