1 Description: The statewide number of long-term students testing below grade level in reading upon entry into a local education agency juvenile corrections or juvenile detention facility.; Academic Year: 2012-13; Grade: N/A; Note: The total statewide number of long-term students testing below grade level in reading upon entry into a local education agency juvenile corrections or juvenile detention facility. Long-term students are those who have been enrolled in a program for 90 or more consecutive calendar days. Only pre-test data are required to determine grade level upon entry; long-term students who have either pre- and post-test data or pre-test-only data may be included in this item. A juvenile corrections program serves delinquent children and youth and is a public or private residential facility, other than a foster home, that is operated for the care of children and youth who have been adjudicated delinquent or in need of supervision, including programs serving adjudicated youth (including non-secure facilities and group homes). A juvenile detention program is a shorter-term detention facility that provides care to children who require secure custody pending court adjudication, court disposition, or execution of a court order, or care to children after commitment. A dash (-) indicates that the data are missing or not available. The symbol "n <" indicates that the data has been suppressed due to a small count.
