Steps for downloading the data you need (For more details, go to FAQs)

  1. Use the filters to the left to choose your data of interest (Tip: For File Specification and Data Group filters, hover over titles for more information)
  2. Select "RESET FILTERS" at any time to return to the default filters
  3. Once you have selected the data you need, click on the "DOWNLOAD DATA" button to download CSV and data notes. Your data will export immediately.

Note on download size: If the current size of the dataset exceeds 250,000 rows, the Department recommends that you use filters to reduce the size of the file (e.g. select a subset of states) and download the file in batches. A file that exceeds 1 million rows will not download completely.

2020-2021 ALL STATES 175, 179, 178, 185, 188, 189 583, 584, 585, 588, 589, 590 LEA, SCH, SEA ED recommends users of the SY 2020-21 Assessment Data review the data notes and state explanations to understand the full context of state, local, and school implementation of the statewide assessments. Due to the circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic, ED waived the reporting of the statewide assessments in the 2019-2020 school year and encouraged states to consider flexibilities regarding the timing, length, and type of administration of assessments in the 2020-2021 school year. Please be sure to review ED's letter at https/oese.ed.gov/files/2021/02/DCL-on-assessments-and-acct-final.pdf regarding assessments for 2020-21. Statewide assessments were administered in most States in 2020-21 but, due to continued disruptions from the pandemic, rates of participation varied widely in schools throughout the country. Because assessment participation varied so widely, overall results for schools, districts and States may not be representative for those entities, and data for the school year 2020-2021 data may not be comparable with other years. 2020-2021 ALABAMA 118 655 SEA Year to Year Comparison: The total number of homeless children and youth (Category Set A) changed by more than 10% between the prior year and current year. Several of Alabama public schools allowed students to receive their education through virtual learning due to COVID-19; which affected identifying homeless students.
2020-2021 ALABAMA 118 655 LEA, SEA SEA to LEA Comparison: The total number of homeless enrolled students reported at the SEA-level is greater than or equal to the sum of the total homeless enrolled students reported across LEAs in the LEA-level data. The LEA-level data should be greater. The ALSDE only reports those students who were enrolled at that district for the end date of the school year. The ALSDE does not report withdrawn or dropout students that were identified as homeless which causes the student to be unduplicated. This is the same process that has been used in the past.

2020-2021 ARIZONA 170 754 LEA Year to Year Comparison: A difference of at least 20% exists in the number of LEAs included in this file between the prior year and the current year. The SEA started a new competitive grant cycle in FY20-21, during which 60 new EHCY grants were awarded. An additional 10 LEAs were allowed carryover for FY20-21, from the previous grant cycle (FY19-20), which then totaled 70 LEA subgrantees.
2020-2021 ARIZONA 118 655 SEA Year to Year Comparison: The total number of homeless children and youth (Category Set A) changed by more than 10% between the prior year and current year. The SEA provides continuous professional development to support with the ongoing identification of McKinney-Vento students, as well as the data quality and accuracy. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and schools turning to online learning, there was decrease in the ability of identification and enrollment efforts, which has resulted in the total of school enrollments to decrease.
2020-2021 ARIZONA 118 655 SEA Category Set Comparison: The sum of homeless children and youth by homeless unaccompanied youth status (Category Set F) does not equal the sum of homeless children and youth by homeless unaccompanied youth status and primary nighttime residence type (Category Set G). These data should be equal. A new integrity rule has been put into effect with our data collection to ensure that these data are consistently captured moving forward. The SEA provides professional development to LEAs to support with the data quality and accuracy . The SEA has requested that the LEAs update their data into their SIS systems.
2020-2021 ARIZONA 118 655 SEA Category Set Comparison: The sum of homeless children and youth by primary nighttime residence type (Category Set B) does not equal the reported total number of homeless children and youth. These data should be equal. The SEA discovered that several LEAs had data that did not match between the Category Set Comparison for Category Set B and the Education Unit Total. The SEA has recently requested that the LEAs update their data into their SIS systems with the appropriate information. The SEA provides professional development to LEAs to support with the data quality and accuracy.
