2016-2017 ALASKA 175 583 LEA, SEA Alaska made the following changes to its regular assessments for high school between SY2015-16 and SY2016-17: (1) Changed cut scores, (2) Significantly changed assessment items, and (3) Used entirely new assessment. Additionally, Alaska indicated changing its regular assessments for grades 3 through 8. As a result, the State's SY2016-17 results are not comparable to prior years.

The scale and score ranges for PEAKS are different than those used with previous summative assessments. Please note that Alaska canceled general and alternate assessment during the 2015-2016 school year.
2016-2017 ILLINOIS 175 583 LEA, SEA Illinois made the following changes to its regular assessments for high school between SY2015-16 and SY2016-17: (1) Used entirely new assessment. As a result, the State's SY2016-17 results are not comparable to prior years. 
2016-2017 INDIANA 175 583 LEA, SEA Indiana made the following changes to its alternate assessments for all grades between SY2015-16 and SY2016-17: (1) Changed cut scores. As a result, the State's SY2016-17 results are not comparable to prior years.
2016-2017 MASSACHUSETTS 175 583 LEA, SEA Massachusetts changed its regular assessments for grades 3 through 8 between SY2015-16 and SY2016-17. As a result, the State's SY2016-17 results are not comparable to prior years.
2016-2017 MISSISSIPPI 175 583 LEA, SEA Mississippi made the following changes to its alternate assessments for all grades between SY2015-16 and SY2016-17: (1) Changed cut scores, (2) Changed proficiency standards, (3) Significantly changed assessment items, and (4) Used entirely new assessment. As a result, the State's SY2016-17 results are not comparable to prior years.

Nebraska starting using the ACT assessment instead of state developed assessment in 2017.
2010-2011 NEW JERSEY 175, 178 583, 584 LEA, SEA

As part of its emphasis on raising academic standards, in Spring 2009 NJDOE administered a new Assessment for Grade 4. The results are not comparable to previous years. 
2010-2011 NORTH CAROLINA 175, 178 583, 584 LEA, SEA

Retest scores (first retest only) for students who scored below the Achievement Level III standard on reading and mathematics assessments in grades 3 through 8 were used in calculations of AYP and the ABCs performance composites. Students in grades 3-8 who scored Achievement Level II on the first administration of the reading or mathematics assessments and/or their alternate assessments were required to take a retest.

2016-2017 OKLAHOMA 175 583 LEA, SEA Oklahoma made the following changes to its regular assessments for high school between SY2015-16 and SY2016-17: (1) Changed cut scores, (2) Changed proficiency standards, (3) Significantly changed assessment items, (4) Used entirely new assessment, and (5) Realigned assessment to new content standards. Oklahoma changed its regular assessments for grades 3 through 8 between SY2015-16 and SY2016-17. As a result, the State's SY2016-17 results are not comparable to prior years.
2016-2017 PENNSYLVANIA 175 583 LEA, SEA Pennsylvania made the following changes to its alternate assessments for all grades between SY2015-16 and SY2016-17: (1) Changed cut scores, (2) Changed proficiency standards, and (3) Realigned assessment to new content standards. As a result, the State's SY2016-17 results are not comparable to prior years.
