2018-2019 ALASKA 122 635 SEA There is a change greater than 10% between SY 2017-18 and SY 2018-19 for the total number of eligible Migratory children reported. 2018-19 was the second year in which the U.S. Department of Education distributed Title I-C funds using the revised funding formula under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Due to this change, the State of Alaska received another large increase in Title I-C funding. The large increase in funding allowed the State of Alaska to allocate more funds to school districts, which allowed for them to provide more services and programming to migratory children.
2018-2019 ARIZONA 122 635 SEA There is a change greater than 10% between SY 2017-18 and SY 2018-19 for the total number of eligible Migratory children reported. Arizona MEP strongly pushed instructional summer programs with all of our subgrantees during the FY18-19 Reporting Period. The state and local educational partners created new opportunites for students to receive summer MEP-funded services that were not available during prior reporting years. Changes in staff, department leadership, and local education agencies made this increase in summer services possible.
2018-2019 GEORGIA 122 635 SEA There is a change greater than 10% between SY 2017-18 and SY 2018-19 for the total number of eligible Migratory children reported. School districts increased summer services and summer service participation by promoting opportunities through intensive efforts such as conducting home visits to provide registration packets, making arrangements for transportation, and partnering with classroom teachers to remind families of these opportunities.
2018-2019 IDAHO 122 635 SEA There is a change greater than 10% between SY 2017-18 and SY 2018-19 for the total number of eligible Migratory children reported. Idaho State Department of Education staff have continued to strongly encourage LEAs to provide services during the summer. The number of districts providing services has increased and districts have expanded the grade levels they serve to include credit recovery at the secondary level, including using innovative ways of providing services in remote rural areas (e.g. individual tutoring in the home, distance learning supported by migrant staff, and online credit recovery in collaboration with a state virtual charter school and migrant staff from districts, etc.).
2018-2019 ILLINOIS 122 635 SEA There is a change greater than 10% between SY 2017-18 and SY 2018-19 for the total number of eligible Migratory children reported. The total number served dropped due to a decrease in the number of migratory children identified during the performance period.
2018-2019 KANSAS 122 635 SEA There is a change greater than 10% between SY 2017-18 and SY 2018-19 for the total number of eligible Migratory children reported. Kansas has continued to push providing summer services for migrant students as the hold harmless period ends and the new funding formula comes into play.
2018-2019 KENTUCKY 122 635 SEA There is a change greater than 10% between SY 2017-18 and SY 2018-19 for the total number of eligible Migratory children reported. Since there was an increase in students overall, we likewise increased our summer numbers and summer services.The KYMEP has worked extra hard to serve students according to our SDP and ensure that the migrant students do not have a summer slide. We made sure all the migrant students are being served specifically priority for service students.
2018-2019 LOUISIANA 122 635 SEA There is a change greater than 10% between SY 2017-18 and SY 2018-19 for the total number of eligible Migratory children reported. Louisiana put a greater emphasis on summer services in 18-19.
2018-2019 MASSACHUSETTS 122 635 SEA There is a change greater than 10% between SY 2017-18 and SY 2018-19 for the total number of eligible Migratory children reported. These increases are attributed to improved identification and recruitment.
