Georgia utilizes its End of Course Tests (EOCT) as its accountability measure at the high school level.  The courses assessed in language arts and mathematics are required of all students per State Board Rule.  Students must earn credit in the assessed courses in order to graduate. Due to the rigor of the high school mathematics courses, Georgia has more students having to repeat these courses at the high school level.  All students enrolled in the course must take the EOCT, which serves as the final exam.

The percentages are lower than the previous year's report because the cut score was reset in 2013.

The State Board of Education adopted Academic Achievement Standards for the new assessments in Mathematics and Reading/Language Arts which are aligned with the Common Core State Standards. 

Due to a disruption in testing caused by a server error on multiple days during Oklahoma's testing window, the Oklahoma State Board of Education made the decision to credit the students who tested on the days in question as participants, but not include them in the performance calculations if they did not achieve a proficient score. The data in the table reflect this policy decision and are consistent with what was reported in Oklahoma's state and local report cards.

Tennessee implemented a policy where students that scored proficient or advanced on the alternative assessment based on modified standards in the previous year in both math and science had scores changed to basic if they retested on the alternative assessment based on modified standards in 2012-13.  As a result, the number of students taking the alternative assessment based on modified assessment standards declined significantly, and the number of students with disabilities taking the regular assessment with accommodations increased significantly.
