About Funding Transferability for State and Local Education Agencies (Title V, Part A)
Title V, Part A of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) allows State and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to transfer federal funds to other eligible programs to better address their specific needs. This flexibility empowers LEAs to target resources where they are most impactful, promoting local control and innovation in education. The data are collected under the authority of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (2015), and the Department of Education Organization Act (20 USC 3413(c)(1)).
