Steps for downloading the data you need (For more details, go to FAQs)

  1. Use the filters to the left to choose your data of interest (Tip: For File Specification and Data Group filters, hover over titles for more information)
  2. Select "RESET FILTERS" at any time to return to the default filters
  3. Once you have selected the data you need, click on the "DOWNLOAD DATA" button to download CSV and data notes. Your data will export immediately.

Note on download size: If the current size of the dataset exceeds 250,000 rows, the Department recommends that you use filters to reduce the size of the file (e.g. select a subset of states) and download the file in batches. A file that exceeds 1 million rows will not download completely.

2020-2021 ALL STATES T2PDTOP, T2PDTYPE, T2USEPCT, T2USESHR T2PDTOPL, T2PDTYPEL, T2USEPCTL, T2USESHRL SEA District surveys were administered to a nationally representative sample of 5,491 local educational agencies (typically school districts) in the spring and summer of 2021. The district sample included enough districts in each state to permit state-level estimates of district uses of Title II-A funds and also included a nationally representative sample of 500 charter school districts. 2020-2021 ALL STATES T2USESHR T2USESHRL SEA The file specification and data group names for Title II have been created specifically for EDE functionality. T2 signifies it is a Title II program. The next six or seven letters refers to the data topic. The data group has one file letter - 'L' to signify that the data was collected from the LEA survey. T2USESHR refers to data on how the use of funds is shared across actiities; T2USEPCT refers to the percent of LEAs that use T2 funds for a particular activity, T2PDTYPE refers to the type of Professional development that the funds are used for, and T2PDTOP refers to the professional development topics that Title II funds support.
2020-2021 ALABAMA 203 839 SEA Year to Year Comparison: The SEA data indicate a change of 25.8% between the current school year number of teachers teaching with an emergency or provisional credential and the prior school year number of teachers teaching with an emergency or provisional credential in FS203/DG839. The percentage increase is accurate.  Due to the teacher shortage, the Department began issuing Emergency Certificates with a valid period for two consecutive school years.  Since there is a longer valid period, this creates an overlap and increases the total number of valid emergency certificates.  Additionally, if the individual moves to a provisional certificate, it is possible to hold a valid provisional and emergency certificate during the same school year.
2020-2021 ALABAMA 203 839 LEA Year to Year Comparison: In 1 LEAs, the data indicate a change of more than 5% between the current school year and the prior school year. There was a spike in enrollment at a few of the schools.
2020-2021 ALABAMA 067 422 SEA Year to Year Comparison: The SEA data indicate a change of 91.5% between the current school year total number of ['fully certified or licensed' or 'not fully certified or licensed'] Title III teachers and the prior school year total number of ['fully certified or licensed' or 'not fully certified or licensed'] Title III teachers reported in FS067/DG422. There was a misunderstanding by the LEAs on how to report these teachers. A new communication was provided and the data was submitted accordingly. This resulted in the increase of the teachers reported.
2020-2021 ALASKA 203 839 SEA Year to Year Comparison: The SEA data indicate a change of 49.2% between the current school year number of teachers teaching out of field and the prior school year number of teachers teaching out of field in FS203/DG839. In Alaska, the total teacher FTE is approximately 7,500.  The actual change of in-field and out-of-field teacher FTE between 2019-20 and 2020-21 represent between 600 and 750 FTE (about 10%).  While significant, the changes are reasonable considering the national teacher shortages and the staffing limitation that arose with the COVID-19 pandemic.

2020-2021 ARIZONA 203 839 SEA Year to Year Comparison: The SEA data indicate a change of -16.8% between the current school year number of teachers teaching with an emergency or provisional credential and the prior school year number of teachers teaching with an emergency or provisional credential in FS203/DG839. Arizona LEAs requested less emergency teaching certificates due to COVID's impact and a shift to virtual/online instruction. The drop in teachers on emergency teaching certificates corresponds with the overall reduction of applications for certification.
2020-2021 ARIZONA 203 839 LEA Category Set Comparison: In 502 LEAs, the sum of the Category Set B (Emergency or Provisional Credential Status) does not equal the Education Unit Total. These two counts should equal. Note: Category set B not reported for most LEAs. Arizona reported teachers with and without emergency credentials for only schools that require State certification (i.e. non-charter schools). Teachers in Arizona charter schools are not required to hold an Arizona teaching certificate to teach in the charter school. Local Education Agencies (LEA) may require State certification at the local level.
