The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the collection and reporting of data on EDE, beginning in SY 2019-20. The Department urges abundant caution when using the data and recommends reviewing the relevant data notes prior to use or interpretation. This includes data on state assessments, graduation rates, and chronic absenteeism.

Title II Allocation of Funds, Title II PD Types, Title II PD Topics Data Source Description Title II LEA Survey District surveys were administered to a nationally representative sample of 5,491 local educational agencies (typically school districts) in the spring and summer of 2021. The district sample included enough districts in each state to permit state-level estimates of district uses of Title II-A funds and also included a nationally representative sample of 500 charter school districts. Puerto Rico and Hawaii have singie school districts and are excluded from the LEA analyses. For more information on the methodology, please refer to Appendix A in the full report at https://oese.ed.gov/files/2022/08/SY-20-21.pdf
